Members of the Helium community have voted to move the native HIP 70 protocol to the Solana blockchain. The proposal to move to Solana got passed after a unanimous decision from members of the Helium Network.

According to reports, the Ethereum killer, Solana, has crossed over 100 billion transactions. By press time, data from Solana Explorer revealed that the network has 100,027,437,213 transactions with a TPS of about 3,047.

Helium community members completed a vote that suggested moving the Helium network to Solana (SOL/USD). Helium (HNT/USD) is a decentralized blockchain-powered network intended to power Internet of Things (IoT) devices, where the nodes come in the form of hotspots and fill the role of being a wireless gateway as well as a blockchain mining device.

The Helium Foundation will move its custom-built layer 1 blockchain network to Solana. Migration to Solana's chain comes after a network improvement proposal passed a community vote on Thursday.
