Crypto Roundup: BTC, ETH Prices Sluggish, DOGE And Cardano Surge

Crypto prices continue to remain sluggish due to aggressive monetary policies by global economies. The Bitcoin “Fear and Greed Index” still shows extreme fear as the sentiment around the largest cryptocurrency.

The number of whale addresses on the network of the meme-inspired cryptocurrency Dogecoin ($DOGE) has recently moved up by 5,13% after six new whales joined the investor class by scooping up 620 million tokens.

The Bitcoin price is now trading below the $19,000 level after the bulls failed to defend the coin at the aforementioned level. Over the last 24 hours, BTC fell by 1.2%, indicating that the coin was laterally trading.

Ethereum's [ETH] circulating supply has dropped considerable since the much-awaited Merge. According to data from ultra sound money, the supply of the leading altcoin has increased by just 5,000 and an annualized inflation rate of 0.19% since 15 September.

The Ethereum hard fork token (ETHW) has been popular after playing off the popularity of the Ethereum Merge. The fork was carried out in a bid to keep Ethereum in its original proof of work mechanism, and the ETHW token resulted from it.

With the decline in the price of bitcoin, there has been a lot of selling from investors. This sell-off trend has contributed to the further decline of the digital asset's prices in recent times.

Charles Hoskinson says many projects are preparing to launch on the Cardano (ADA) blockchain after its Vasil hard fork upgrade. Hoskinson, the Cardano co-creator, says in a tweet that there are hundreds of projects announcing they will advance using ADA's new capabilities become available to developers next week.

For the third consecutive time, Federal Reserve, on 21 September, raised interest rates by 75 basis points (0.75 percentage points).  The broader financial markets immediately declined after the announcement as stock prices plummeted.

Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) was showing comparative strength to much of the crypto sector during Friday's 24-hour trading session. On Friday afternoon, the Shiba Inu-based cryptocurrency was spiking up over 4% higher at one point while Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) were declining about 4% and 3%, respectively.

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) are trading lower by 3.96% to $18,630 and 3.29% to $1,283 Friday afternoon. Cryptocurrencies at large are falling in sympathy with U.S. markets as investors react to the Fed's Wednesday decision to hike rates by 75 bps.
