Vitalik Buterin Pushes For Ethereum 2.0 Launch In 2020

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, said that he does not believe that the rollout of Ethereum 2.0’s initial stage that’s called phase 0 should be delayed. During a Reddit AMA session with the Ethereum 2.0 research team, Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake said that the practical launch date of Ethereum 2.0’s initial phase may not go live until early next year, the Daily Hodl notes.

He continued and revealed that “With Thanksgiving on November 26 and the December holidays I’d say the latest practical opportunity for genesis in 2020 is mid-November, 4 months from now. As such, I’m now inclined to say that the earliest practical date for genesis is something like January 3, 2021 (Bitcoin’s 12th anniversary).”
