Le Federal Bureau of Investigation a confirmé lundi que le groupe de cybercriminalité nord-coréen "Lazarus Group" est responsable de la violation massive de 100 millions de dollars du protocole Harmony l'année dernière. On Monday, January 23, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) published a report confirming that two groups linked to North Korea were responsible for the $100 million hack of the Harmony Bridge last year in June 2022. The notorious Lazarus Group and APT38 outfits were responsible for attacking and stealing from the US-based blockchain specialist.

Hacks are bad news for any project and particularly for layer 1 blockchains. In the case of Harmony Protocol (CRYPTO: ONE), they seem to be pivoting and coming out on top following an unfortunate public hack.

Cryptocurrency exchanges Binance and Huobi have recovered some of the funds stolen in last year's hack of Harmony. “We detected Harmony One hacker fund movement,” Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao wrote in a Sunday (Jan. 15) tweet.

Hacking in the crypto industry has been a prominent part of the space. One of the recent significant ones, the Harmony bridge exploit, has been under investigation since it occurred.

On Jan. 15, 2023, onchain researchers discovered that funds stolen during the Harmony bridge attack had been moved. The suspected thieves, who are allegedly associated with the North Korean hacking syndicate Lazarus Group, moved 41,000 ethereum, worth $63.2 million at current exchange rates.

The notorious North Korean-based Lazarus group has moved millions of dollars worth of Ethereum stolen from the Harmony hack over the weekend. Harmony was attacked on the 22nd of June, 2022, with around $100 million stolen.

Harmony released an update concerning its Horizon bridge asset recovery proposal on September 23, 2022. The team is proposing not to mint more $ONE tokens or change its tokenomics with a hard fork of the protocol.
