Ethereum and XRP Whales Come Alive, Abruptly Move Nearly $300,000,000 Worth of Crypto in Just 24 Hours

Whale addresses are moving nearly $300 million worth of Ethereum (ETH) and XRP in just 24 hours this week, according to data from crypto transaction-tracking platform Whale Alert. In one of the largest transactions, Whale Alert reports that an unknown wallet transferred 38,781 Ethereum worth more than $52 million to another unknown wallet on Monday.

The legal battle between the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ripple XRP is getting tougher. The watchdog has been hunting crypto assets and firms tagged to deal with unregistered securities.

Scalability trilemma implies that to scale, blockchains usually need to sacrifice one of their three fundamental cornerstones — security or decentralization, or transaction throughput.

Cryptocurrency research platform Messari, in a new report, assessed the performance of Ethereum [ETH] in Q3 2022. Titled “State of Ethereum Q3 2022,” Messari found that the blockchain witnessed an uptick in activity on the network in Q3 over the last quarter.

Ripple's [XRP] 24-hour performance in the crypto market would have lightened up the mood of its investors. According to CoinMarketCap, XRP had increased 10.11% in the last 24 hours.

As a result of the Ethereum Merge's popularity, the Ethereum Proof of Work (ETHW) token grew in popularity as well. Developers had created a fork to maintain the original structure of the network.
