Bitcoin, Ethereum Technical Analysis: ETH, BTC Surge, as US Inflation Uncertainty Fades

Ethereum was trading higher on Friday, as market volatility eased, following the latest U.S. inflation report. Core inflation rose 0.6%, with consumer prices up to 8.2%, higher than the expected 8.1%. Despite this, traders seem to have breathed a sigh of relief, as the uncertainty surrounding the report has now passed.

Despite being a lesser-known cryptocurrency, Quant has held gains while top coins, including Bitcoin, have fallen in value. The price of Quant had fallen along with the rest of the crypto market at the start of the year.

Yesterday, Bitcoin extended its losses below the $19,000 support area, but spiked after the release of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), leaving the market participants taken aback as this was opposite to what everyone was anticipating.  After the data was out, the bulls promptly regained control and pushed BTC above $19,000.

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) trading platform NYDIG laid off about a third of its employees on Sep. 22, which numbered around 110, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
