Tether Teams Up With Bitifinex To Unveil Keet, A Video-Calling App

The crypto exchange platform Bitifinex and popular stablecoin issuer, Tether jointly developed a video calling software. The two parties, alongside P2P maker Hypercore, have launched a new firm to float their app, Keet.

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex and stablecoin issuer Tether (CRYPTO: USDT) have partnered with open-source protocol Hypercore to launch a video calling application, Keet, which also allows audio, text and file exchanges between users and supports Bitcoin Lightning and USDT payments. The Keet application was built as part of a fully encrypted platform called Holepunch for building peer-to-peer applications and is powered by Distributed Holepunching (DHT) technology that allows users to locate each other and connect “using only cryptographic key pairs upon authorization.

Bitfinex, Tether, and Hypercore have joined to launch Holepunch, a platform described as enabling creators to build secure peer-to-peer apps. Holepunch is currently closed source and in alpha testing.
