The United States Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC) has joined other federal agencies in charging Avraham Eisenberg – a crypto trader. The crypto trader has come under the scrutiny of the regulators for his activity on Mango Markets, a crypto trading platform.

The U.S. Commodities and Futures Trading Commission has brought its own charges against Mango Markets exploiter Avraham Eisenberg. Eisenberg carried out a $110 million exploit in October 2022.

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) brought fraud and market manipulation charges against Avraham Eisenberg, who publicly admitted his role in draining over $110 million in digital assets from decentralized crypto exchange Mango Markets.

CFTC follows US prosecutors in filing a case against Avraham Eisenberg, who allegedly manipulated swaps on the Solana-based decentralized exchange Mango Markets. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed its complaint on Jan. 9.

On Monday, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed charges of manipulation against Avraham Eisenberg, the exploiter of Mango Markets. These charges come just a few short weeks after Eisenberg, aka Mango Avi, was arrested by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) on charges that were particularly similar.

The crypto trader behind the infamous Mango Markets exploits had previously claimed that his actions were legal and part of a profitable trading strategy.  FBI Files Fraud Charges Law enforcement has arrested the infamous Mango Markets hacker, Avraham Eisenberg, who had claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that his actions were not illegal at all.

The Mango Markets hacker previously referred to his attack on the cryptocurrency exchange as “legal open market actions.” The crypto trader responsible for the $110 million Mango Markets hack has been arrested in Puerto Rico and charged with market manipulation and fraud.
