The year 2022 was quite the opposite of eventful for the crypto industry, as the market witnessed a number of crashes that shook investors. Despite the market's high volatility, Polygon [MATIC] continued to improve its network and hit several milestones along the way.

The ongoing downfall in polygon coin price has stopped at a multiple-month support level of $0.763. Previously this support has initiated some strong rallies, validating it as a high accumulation zone.

NFT Marketplace powered by Polygon, OnePlanet, has announced a partnership with prominent Multi-Channel Network Sandbox Network. The partnership will see OnePlanet provide technical and ecosystem support for the global expansion of Sandbox Network's NFT MetaToyDragonZ (MTDZ).

The Polygon MATIC engine has actively churned out new projects every other week. MATIC, the blockchain's native currency, price is yet to react to these developments as the 2022 bear market continues to play out.

Bitcoin traded above the $16.6k support level over what can be considered a weekend of reduced volatility and volume. MATIC has been in a downtrend on lower timeframes after the rejection at $0.928 on 14 December.

MATIC has been in a steady downtrend since the beginning of the year. It began the year at $2.53 and has since tumbled down to $0.889, seeing a yearly low of $0.325 on 19 June shortly after the first crypto contagion.

The prime broker platform of Nasdaq-listed cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase, Coinbase Prime, has started offering Polygon ($MATIC) staking services to its users, allowing them to earn rewards while helping secure the network. In a tweet, the company pointed out that investors can earn rewards with “institutional-grade, fully integrated staking” on its interface.
