Google Cloud's Entry Into Celo Network Signals Mainstream Adoption Of Blockchain Technology

Google Cloud has become a validator on the Celo network, a move that is set to bolster the network's security. Google Cloud now joins a diverse group of validators, including Deutsche Telekom and impactMarket, in validating the Celo platform.

C Labs, the development team behind the Celo blockchain, has unveiled a proposal to transition from being an independent layer-1 blockchain to a layer-2 solution on Ethereum. The decision was announced on Twitter, following extensive research and discussions with members of both communities.

The development team behind the independent Celo blockchain says benefits could accrue from transitioning to the Ethereum ecosystem, in terms of greater liquidity, improved security and more compatibility.

The Ethereum 2 Layer will enable the creation of new opportunities for integration and collaboration with the Ethereum network. The proposal discussion is set to take place at a management call scheduled for the 21st of July.
