Euler Finance hacker mixing the stolen funds on Tornado Cash

The hacker who stole almost $200 million from Euler Finance by exploiting a vulnerability on its flash loan smart contract has moved some of the stolen tokens through mixing protocol Tornado Cash. The attacker stole Dai (DAI/USD), USD Coin (USDC/USD), staked ETH, and wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC).

Today's hack saw an attacker drain millions in $DAI, $USDC, $StETH and $WBTC in a flash loan attack. In the largest hack so far in 2023, an attacker was able to carry out multiple transactions that netted more than $195 million in various crypto and stablecoins.

Tornado Cash developer Alexsey Pertsev remains in jail after facing money laundering charges for creating the mixing service, but a recent tweet by Ameen Soleimani, the co-founder of SpankChain and Reflex Labs, suggests the crypto mixing service could soon have its comeback despite the legal woes of its developer.
