Cardano's (ADA) Upcoming Vasil Hard Fork Expected to Improve Scalability

Vasil is an enhancement of the Cardano platform, “improving scalability and lowering transaction costs” It improves on the Plutus smart contract platform, “allowing developers to deploy more complex smart contracts,” according to an update shared by Poloniex.

Cardano's (ADA) blockchain is set for the Vasil Hard Fork upgrade on Sept. 22. Named in honour of Cardano community member, Vasil St. Dabov, who passed on in 2021, the much-anticipated upgrade is expected to bring about sweeping changes to the network, impacting transaction fees, speed and decentralized application development.

Cardano's Vasil hard fork is the most anticipated upgrade as it improves the functionality, performance, scalability, and interoperability of the Cardano network. The IOG/Cardano Foundation team will deploy the Vasil hard fork using the Hard Fork Combinator (HFC) technology on September 22.

Popular cryptocurrency analyst Michaël van de Poppe has recently suggested that Cardano's upcoming Vasil hard fork, which is expected to deliver a “massive performance improvement” to the network, presents “massive opportunities” for $ADA.
