Former a16z partner and Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan has come under fire for an outlandish bitcoin price prediction, with renowned scholar and risk analyst Nassim Nicholas Taleb criticizing Srinivasan's bet as a "lunatic" move.

Former Coinbase chief technology officer Balaji Srinivasan is detailing a seriously bold Bitcoin (BTC) price prediction. In a series of tweets, Srinivasan says he's willing to bet BTC explodes to a staggering $1 million in just 90 days from now.

Balaji S. Srinivasan, angel investor and a former Coinbase CTO, has announced on Twitter his intention to bet $2 million on Bitcoin reaching $1 million within the next 90 days. Srinivasan outlined his belief that central banks, banks, and regulators have been dishonest with dollar holders and depositors.

On Saturday, March 18, veteran investor Balaji Srinivasan raised a major alarm stating that the United States is quickly moving into hyperinflation taking a massive $1 million bet on this. Interestingly, he's also moving $2 million in USDC for the bet through Medlock.

General Bytes experienced a security incident on March 17 and 18 that enabled a hacker to remotely access the master service interface and send funds from hot wallets, according to the company and sources. The breach forced a majority of U.S.-based crypto automated teller machine (ATM) operators to temporarily shut down.

As Bitcoin hits its highest level in nine months, many are wondering just how high the cryptocurrency can go. With a market cap of over $1 trillion and a surge in demand, as investors seek a safe haven amid economic uncertainty, Bitcoin's price has skyrocketed in recent months.
