ARB airdrop: Will Arbitrum's new token be a good investment?

Arbitrum, a fast-growing layer-2 blockchain, is set to unveil its crypto token on Thursday this week. Despite not having a native token or announcing any airdrop, zkSync has seen a surge in the number of addresses bridging to its platform, with over 39,000 addresses bridging over $871 million in the last seven days.

Recently, the Arbitrum community has posted warnings to investors about the possibility of scammers generating fake Arbitrum airdrops. This tactic is popularly known as phishing, where attackers devise a deceptive means to manipulate users into giving out their wallet private keys.

Binance has announced the listing of Arbitrum (ARB) on its platform. The official token claiming for ARB is estimated to be live at the Ethereum block height of #16890400 around 2023-03-23 12:30 (UTC).

At least four major crypto exchanges have now announced they plan to list Arbitrum's upcoming crypto asset, ARB. MEXC, Huobi and Bybit all say they will list ARB next Thursday, March 23rd, the date of the token's airdrop.

Arbitrum, the popular layer-2 solution, registered a sharp increase in trading activity on its network. As per Dune Analytics, the number of daily transactions went past 1.4 million on 16 March.

Amid the hype surrounding the Ethereum Shanghai upgrade and the Arbitrum airdrop, co-founder Vitalik Buterin recommends crypto investors using social recovery wallets and multi-signature wallets to achieve self-custody of crypto funds. He also uses a multisig wallet personally to store his funds, as does the Ethereum Foundation.

The top rival of the Ethereum (ETH) layer-2 scaling solution Polygon (MATIC) is announcing that it will be transitioning to decentralized governance as well as airdropping a significant amount of its new native asset, ARB.
