Qtum (QTUM) Development Team Inches Closer to Offline Staking

The development team at Qtum is preparing to support offline staking on the QTUM blockchain by first double-checking the feature for issues through a testnet version. The team notified the Qtum community of the progress via a Medium announcement this week and further explained that Offline staking on the testnet will be available after a hardfork at block 625,000.

The feature of offline staking on Qtum was as a result of community members and QTUM holders requesting a way to stake without being online and without running a full node. What it means for QTUM If offline staking on the testnet is successful, an implementation on the QTUM mainnet would translate to the blockchain being the first in the crypto-verse to offer offline staking of its cryptocurrency.
