Businesses can now claim their trademark blockchain domains, before it’s too late
Unstoppable Domains, a San Francisco-based company that offers “uncensorable” websites through the Zilliqa blockchain, today announced a “sunrise period” lasting from now until October 15 to give trademark holders the opportunity to claim their non-custodial . Claiming domains now will allow businesses and trademark holders to protect their brands before these blockchain domains become available to retail customers, Unstoppable Domains co-founder Bradley Kam explained in an interview with Decrypt.
zil domains offered by Unstoppable Domains, however, differ from those coming from Verisign in that the ownership of domains is non-custodial. Unstoppable Domains, which in May raised a $4 million Series A led by Draper Associates and Boost VC, aims to use its approach to domain name registration to bring the Internet one step closer to full decentralization.
